There are many uses for the Kukui Nut in ancient Hawaiian days from fishing, therapeutic oils, to adornment at traditional events and gatherings. Hula dancers, priests and the royalty often wore these.
The Kukui nut is often sanded down, buffed, then polished to black or brown. Some may have mongo shells, acacia koa seed, and/or coconut husk. However, many people wear these for graduations and weddings in our time. Now, they are painted in a variety of colors to match your school colors, or favorite sports' teams, and even have hand-painted designs.
There may be light scratches on the paint due to storage wear. All natural materials will differ. The item you will receive is slightly different from the picture.
